Director of Clinical Services
Bill is the Director of Clinical Services at Advent Home Medical. He earned his Bachelor of Applied Science from University of Michigan, Flint. Bill is a Licensed and Registered Respiratory Therapist who brings years of experience and a strong commitment to lead our clinical team. He is experienced in all aspects of respiratory care including sleep medicine, critical and emergency respiratory care.
Julie Barber, LRT, RRT
Respiratory Therapist, Branch Manager

Julie joined the Advent Home Medical team in January, 2014 and brings over 20 years of experience to our team. She has extensive experience in critical care and clinical education. Julie has been a long-time volunteer at Trails Edge summer camp for ventilator dependent children.
Pam Hardy, BS, LRT, RRT

Pam originally earned her Bachelor's degree in business, and later returned to school to become a Licensed and Registered Respiratory Therapist. She has been a part of the Advent clinical team since 2012. Pam enjoys the home setting care where she can deliver quality respiratory care with compassion in the comfort of home for the patients we serve.
Kelly Mcpherson, LRT, RRT

Kelly earned her Associates Degree in Applied Science from Macomb Community College. Prior to joining the team at Advent, she spent 12 years in the hosptial setting where she gained extensive clinical knowledge. Kelly enjoys the personal connections that she is able to establish in the home care setting.
Brandi Jo Szabo, LRT, RRT

Brandi Jo joined the team at Advent Home Medical in 2014, and has consistently demonstrated positive outcomes for patients who require home ventilation in West Michigan. She is experienced in the home and hospital setting for both pediatric and adult patients. Her extensive clinical knowledge, and holistic approach to healthcare is very beneficial for patient outcomes.
Kelly Eklund, LRT, RRT

Kelly earned her Associate in Applied Science from Muskegon Community College. She has also earned her Asthma Education Certificate, and has worked in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Helen DeVos Children's Hospital. Kelly enjoys spending time with her family, and especially her five grandchildren.
Holly Breen, LRT, RRT

Holly joined Advent Home Medical in September, 2015. She is a Licensed and Registered Respiratory Therapist with 7 years of critical care and Emergency Medicine experience prior to joining our team. Holly also has experience working in the NICU and Hyperbaric Medicine. She enjoys the interactions she has with her patients and their families.
Kirsten Oprisiu, LRT, RRT

Kirsten is a graduate from Oakland Community College. Kirsten is a Licensed and Registered Respiratory Therapist that comes to us from the hospital setting with experience in neonatal, pediatric, and adult critical care. Her decision to change to home care was made to broaden her skills. She enjoys the interactions she has with her patients and their families.
Jackie Donahue, LRT, RRT

Jackie joined our team in November 2018, bringing with her 23 years of critical care, special care nursery and diagnostic experience. She relocated to the Petoskey branch and was named our branch manager in 2020.
Derek Schultz, BS, LRT, RRT

Derek received his bachelor's degree from Siena Heights University. He has over 20 years of clinical respiratory experience in a hospital setting. He also has a personal connection that drives his passion in the field, as his father was a home ventilator patient for many years. Derek has been a clinical respiratory therapy instructor for Ferris State University and Jackson Community College. He brings a wealth of knowledge to the team, and continues to be a relied upon source to families caring for loved ones at home.
Tara Curtis, LRT, RRT

Tara graduated with an AS degree in respiratory therapy from Baker College in 2008. With her passion for healthcare, she has experience in the areas of the ER, ICU, NICU, PICU and sleep medicine. Tara takes great pride in her profession as a Registered Respiratory Therapist and is a strong advocate for her patients. Outside of work she became passionate about foster care when her family embarked on their foster care and adoptive journey. She especially likes advocating for foster youth she mentors who are at risk.
Cyndi Wilson, LRT, RRT

Cyndi is a Licensed and Registered Respiratory Therapist. She graduated from Mott Community College with an Associate in Applied Science. She has over 15 years of experience in both adult and pediatric critical care. She is also a hyperbaric oxygen therapy safety director, and is pursuing an education in natural health and practical acupuncture. Her passion is to help people to achieve their optimal health.
Michael Spoelman, LRT, RRT

Mike graduated from Ferris State University with an Associate in Applied Science in Respiratory Care. He came to us with 12 years of experience at Metro Health Hospital, Assisted Breathing Unit. Mike is originally from Muskegon, and now lives in Grand Haven. He will be servicing our patients on the lakeshore, and greater Grand Rapids area.
Kari VanLangevelde, LRT, RRT

Kari graduated from Ferris State University with an Associate in Applied Science in Respiratory Care. Kari has gained most of her respiratory experience in the Medical Progressive Care Unit, and in the Emergency/Trauma Department. She also has experience in caring for the pediatric patient in the home setting.

Megan graduated from Macomb Community College with an Associate in Applied Science in respiratory care. Megan came to Advent with over 20 years of experience in respiratory care including trauma, ICU, MICU, CCU, ER, pediatric care, and bedside bronchoscopy. She is passionate about taking care of patients in the home setting. She likes to golf, and spend time with her husband and children.
Jim Butler, BS, LRT, CRT

Jim graduated from Northern Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science in planning and economics. He later became a licensed respiratory therapist and has many years of experience in the acute care setting. Jim calls Northern Michigan home, and enjoys spending time in the UP where he is an avid hunter and fisherman.
Shelley Madrid, BS, LRT, RRT

Rochelle (Shelley) graduated from Michigan State University with a bachelor's degree in turfgrass management, and later earned her associate in respiratory therapy while working in California. Shelley was a NICU therapist at Sharp Mary Birch Women’s Hospital in San Diego, then moved back to Michigan to be closer to family. She has previous experience in home ventilator care for pediatrics, has worked in the NICU, PICU and for adult respiratory care in the acute care setting. She comes to Advent with over 14 years of experience as a respiratory therapist from a broad background. Bike riding, hiking, kayaking, camping, and watching movies are some things Shelley enjoys doing with family and friends.
Alek Drouin, LRT, RRT

Alek graduated from Macomb community college with an associate of applied science in respiratory care. Having experience in both adult critical care as well as neonatal care, Alek is a great addition to our team. He also has specialized training to preform pulmonary function tests as well as assist with bronchoscopies. He came to the home care setting to have a closer relationship with patients and caregivers, and to broaden skills as a registered respiratory therapist.

Marilyn graduated from Mott Community College with an associate of applied science in respiratory care. She joins our team at Advent with over 30 years of experience in the respiratory field ranging from adult, neonatal, and pulmonary rehabilitation. Marilyn enjoys bowling , spending time with her husband and their five children. She also has 12 grandchildren, and a dog who is a part of the family too.
